Ghanaian AI startup BISA Labs has won the Global Health Tech Award for their innovative diagnostic tool that uses artificial intelligence to detect tropical diseases from smartphone images.

The award comes with a $500,000 prize and mentorship from global health organizations. BISA Labs plans to expand across West Africa, targeting 10 million users by 2026.
The founders, graduates from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, developed the technology to address the shortage of doctors in rural Ghana.
