Students in Ghana using tablets in a digitally equipped classroom

Ghana Launches New Digital Education Initiative for 2026

The Ghana Ministry of Education has officially unveiled its Digital Education Initiative 2026, aiming to enhance access to online learning for students across the country.
The program focuses on providing tablets, smart classrooms, and e-learning platforms to improve the quality of education in both urban and rural schools. The Ministry has partnered with local tech companies to ensure students and teachers are trained to use digital tools effectively.
Education officials said the initiative is part of Ghana’s long-term strategy to integrate technology into classrooms, modernize teaching methods, and reduce the digital divide.
Teachers will receive specialized training programs, while students will gain access to interactive lessons, digital textbooks, and virtual learning environments. The Ministry believes this will prepare students for the demands of a global digital economy.
Parents and school administrators have welcomed the initiative, highlighting the importance of technology in improving academic performance and engagement.
Experts also noted that the program could boost literacy in digital skills, helping Ghana’s youth compete on an international level.
The Ministry plans to monitor the program’s progress closely and expand its reach to all public schools by the end of 2026.
