The Government of Ghana has launched a state-of-the-art national data center, designed to host government data and support the country's digital transformation agenda.
The data center features:
- Tier III certification for reliability
- 99.982% uptime guarantee
- 500-rack capacity
- Solar power backup
- Advanced security systems
- Disaster recovery capabilities
The $100 million facility is part of efforts to:
- Protect government data sovereignty
- Reduce data hosting costs
- Improve service delivery
- Support private sector hosting needs
- Position Ghana as a regional data hosting hub
The Ministry of Communications will manage the facility, with initial migration of 50 government agencies planned for the first year.
