Ghana Receives COVID-19 Vaccines

Ghana has received 1.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines through the COVAX facility, supporting the ongoing vaccination campaign.

The shipment includes:
- Pfizer vaccines (booster doses)
- Johnson & Johnson vaccines (single dose)
- Pediatric vaccines for children aged 5-11

Vaccination statistics:
- 15 million Ghanaians fully vaccinated (50%)
- 8 million have received boosters
- Target: 70% fully vaccinated by end of 2024

The Health Minister urged all Ghanaians to get vaccinated and boosted, noting that while cases have declined, the pandemic is not over.

The vaccines are being distributed to health centers across the country, with special outreach programs targeting underserved communities. Mobile vaccination teams are visiting schools, markets, and workplaces to increase access.

Ghana has been praised for its efficient vaccine distribution, with over 90% of received doses administered within 2 months of arrival.
