The Traders Advocacy Group Ghana (TAGG) has expressed concerns over Parliament’s approval of a digital tracking and AI audit deal between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and TRUEDARE Investments Ltd.
TAGG warns that if safeguards and full disclosure are not ensured, the deal may result in hidden costs for traders, ultimately affecting consumers. The group urged the government to maintain transparency and protect small and medium-sized enterprises.
While digital tracking may improve tax compliance, proper stakeholder consultation is essential to prevent financial burdens on traders.
